Go to the Pokémon Centre to heal your Pokémon. Next go to the mart and you will be asked to deliver a package for Prof. Oak. Deliver it and go to the mart again. Buy some Pokéballs and go back to the Route and capture a Pidgey and Rattata. The Gym isn't open till later on in the game.
