Friendship

  Ash walked closer and closer towards the Pokemon League doors. 
  I can do this. I'm going to be the Pokemon master! 
  As he walked in, a large man stepped in front of him. 
  "Can I see your BoulderBadge?" The man asked in a deep booming voice. 
  "Uhh...S-s-s-sure..." Ash nervously answered as he showed the man the 
  glistening piece of rock that was pinned to his vest. 
  "You may Proceed" The man said. 
  This was how the next fifteen minutes was spent until Ash reached a small body 
  of water. 
  Hmmm...What should I do here? I'm ten years old and I can't even swim, that's 
  pathetic...Wait! I know! 
  "Vaporeon! I choose you!" Ash shouted as he threw down his Pokeball. "Surf, 
  Vaporeon, Surf! Ash yelled as he jumped on Vaporeon's back. 
  After more badge checking and getting lost, Ash was at the door of his final 
  destination, The Elite Four. Ash proudly walked in looking around. He stopped 
  over at the front desk. 
  "Hi, Nurse Joy!" Ash said 
  "Oh hello Ash, what can I do for you?" she asked 
  "Well, we're all just a little tired from the hike up here, will you cure all 
  my Pokemon?" 
  "Certainly Ash, why don't you look around while you wait." 
  "Alright" Ash replied as he walked over to another desk. 
  "Hey you, young man! Nobody beat our prices! We sell for best price in all of 
  the land! Celadon-NO, Viridian-NO, Saffron-No! We the best in all the world!" 
  An old japanese man shouted to Ash. 
  "Uhh...okay..I'll take 3 Hyper Potions, An Escape Rope, and...do you sell 
  stones?" 
  "Yes yes, we sell all the stones!" 
  "I'll take a moon stone" 
  "That come to 2100 dollars." The man said 
  **DING DING** 
  Ash quickly paid and went over to Nurse Joy. 
  "Do you have my Pokemon?" Ash asked 
  "Yep, right here, good luck Ash!" 
  Ash put his stuff in his pack except for his moon stone. 
  "Come on out ,Clefairy." Ash said as he took out his Pokeball. 
  "Cle-Fairy! Cle-Fairy!" Clefairy said as it waddled around. 
  Ash took out the moon stone and held it above Clefairy's head. A flash of 
  light blinded Ash for a moment and when his vision returned he saw the change. 
  "Cle-Fable! Cle-Fable!" The Clefable cheered. 
  "Return Clefable!" Ash said quietly. 
  Ash stepped into the dark room. A chill flew over his body. Suddenly, the 
  lights went on and Ash could see a girl in the other end of the room. 
  "I am Lorelei! Master of Icy Pokemon! Prepare to be Frozen!" She shouted. 
  Ash's Raichu easily destroyed Lorelei's First Pokemon, but it was her final 
  Pokemon, Lapras that gave him so much trouble. 
  "Oh shoot! Raichu Thunderbolt!" 
  "Rai-CHU!!" the Raichu screamed as it released its most powerful blow yet. 
  The Lapras fell to the ground. 
  "Yes, we did it!" Ash shouted "Way to go Raichu!" 
  Ash defeated the rest of the Elite Four without much trouble showing how good 
  he was with Pokemon afterall...well almost without much trouble. 
  "Hahahah! You are no match for Lance, Dragon Trainer!" Lance cackled. 
  "No, I'm not going down! I may only have my Venusaur left but he will be my 
  winning Pokemon!" Ash shouted back. 
  "Venusaur, Razor Leaf!!" Ash yelled. 
  Thousands of shrp leaves spun around Lance's Dragonite and knocked it to the 
  floor. 
  "Venusaur, Vine Whip!" 
  Two large thick vines shot out of Venusaur's back and whipped the fallen 
  Dragonit clear across the face. 
  **Ding Ding Ding** 
  "The winner is...Ash of Pallet Town!" The annoncer said. 
  Ash was just about to scream in happiness when he heard a strangely familiar 
  voice. 
  "Ash, you didn't win just yet!" Gary said. 
  "Gary! Enough talk, let's go!" 
  "It's fine with me, Loser-Boy!" Gary obnoxiously replied 
  Oh man...Venusaur's almost down...No potions...Who cares? I can win! I can! 
  "Venusaur, I choose you!" 
  "Charizard, get 'em!" 
  But...plant Pokemon are weak against fire Pokemon. 
  "Venusaur, Vine Whip!" 
  "Ha! That's not very effective Ash!" Gary stated proudly. "Charizard, Fire 
  spin!" 
  Suddenly, A whirlwind of flame consumed Venusaur and threw him against the 
  floor burning. 
  "NO!!" cried Ash. 
  **Ding Ding Ding** 
  "The winner and still champion is...Gary Oak Of Pallet!" 
  Ash dropped to his knees and punched the ground. 
  It's not fair...why Gary? I'm just asgood a Pokemon trainer as he is! 
  "Smell ya later, Loser-Boy!" Gary shouted "I'm going home to tell gramps the 
  news!" 
  An hour later, Ash was walking back towards Pallet. 
  "Oh well, maybe I'll try again sometime..." Ash said to himself. 
  Suddenly, Gary flew past Ash on his bike laughing. Ash felt even worse now. 
  "Geodude...Geodude...Geodude" A Geodude chanted as it crossed the bike path. 
  Ash looked up. 
  "Oh my god, Gary look out!" Ash screamed. 
  "Huh?" Gary replied. 
  In that second Gary's bike hit the Geodude. Gary let go of the handlebars and 
  fell of the bike. His skull hit the pavement and he lay there bleeding. Ash 
  ran over and put his hand on Gary's heart. It was still beating. 
  "Gary?" Ash whispered. 
  "ugh...ugh....Ash" Gary replied. "D-d-do you r-r-remember when we were f-f- 
  friends? 
  Ash smiled and a tear came to his eye. 
  "Yeah, I remember" Ash whispered. 
  Gary smiled a bit and then closed his eyes. Ash shouted to him. 
  "Gary? Gary!?" 
  No reply. Gary was gone. 
  It was a long walk home from there. Ash thought about all the events that 
  happened in about two hours. When he returned home, he looked at old pictures 
  of him and Gary. Ash cried that night. He would never forget his best friend 
  and worst enemy, Gary Oak. 

  **One year later** 

  "So Ash, you're trying again?" Professor Oak asked. 
  "Yep, and I'll take a Squirtle!" Ash replied happily. 
  "What are you going to name it, Ash?" Asked The Professor. 
  "Gary..."Ash replied quietly. 
  Ash walked out the door and began his quests once more.
